How can I turn social comments into product feedback?

Your audience is already telling you what to fix, add and stop doing. Here is a process for turning thousands of social comments into a short, evidence-backed list your product team will actually read.

The short answer.

To turn social comments into product feedback, collect comments about your products from your posts, creator videos and communities, remove noise, classify each into product categories such as defects, feature requests and usability, count and rank them, and share a short report with examples. Noodle4 classifies comments using the video as context, supports your own taxonomy and sends results to Slack, the API and MCP.

By the numbers

Many unhappy customers never complain, so unprompted comments are valuable.

56%
rarely complain about a bad experience and quietly switch instead (Coveo 2023, via Zendesk)
50%+
of negative experiences led consumers to reduce or stop spending (Qualtrics XM Institute, 2025)

Figures are as reported by each source. Sample sizes and dates are listed under Sources.

Why comments are good feedback

  • Unprompted. People say what they think without being asked.
  • Specific. “The lid cracks after two weeks.”
  • Visible. Other customers agree in the replies.
  • Fast. Comments appear within hours of a video.

The process

  1. Collect. Your own posts, creator videos, category content, Reddit and X.
  2. Filter noise. Spam, giveaways and unrelated comments.
  3. Classify. Defect, feature request, usability, price, packaging, praise.
  4. Tie to the product. Which SKU or version.
  5. Count and rank. By volume, growth and severity.
  6. Attach examples. Real comments with a link to the video.

A format product teams read

Product teams are busy. Give them one page: the top five issues by size, the top three requests, what changed since last month, and three example comments each. Add a link to open each in full.

Prioritising

Noodle4 classifies comments using the video as context. It can tell whether a commenter is an advocate, an existing customer or a potential customer, spot sarcasm, separate relevant positive and negative comments from spam, toxicity and hate speech, and find brand and product issues or praise even when the comment never mentions them.

  • Volume. How many people said it.
  • Growth. Is it rising?
  • Severity. Safety and claims first.
  • Who said it. Existing customers matter more for fixes, potential customers for barriers to buying.

Closing the loop

When something is fixed, say so where people complained. Reply under the original video, tell the creator, and update your content. It turns complaints into trust.

What Noodle4 includes

Noodle4 is a full social intelligence platform, not only a video tool. It reviews text as well as video and images, and it includes:

  • Text, video and image review. Reads captions, on-screen text, spoken words, images and comments, so the whole piece of content is understood.
  • Taxonomies. Organise content and comments into your own categories, so results match how your team thinks.
  • Visual-level SKU tracking. Spot products and SKUs as they appear in videos and images, not only when they are named in text.
  • Classifications. Every piece of content and every comment is classified by topic, type and relevance.
  • Anomaly detection. Flags unusual spikes and shifts, so you see what is trending before it spreads.
  • Slack and Slack Connect. Reviews, risks and reports go to your team’s channels, and to shared channels with partners.
  • MCP. Ask about your creators, campaigns and social intelligence from Claude, Cursor or any MCP client.
  • API. Send content in and get structured results back from your own systems.

That covers social listening, brand monitoring, influencer screening and monitoring, content review and reporting in one place. It is priced on usage, not seats, from £99 a month.

Sources

Checked 19 October 2026. Figures are quoted as the sources report them, with the survey and sample size where given.

  • Zendesk: customer service statistics for 2026. The 73% figure is Zendesk Benchmark data. The 56% figure is Coveo, 2023. Sample sizes are not stated. Zendesk sells customer service software.
  • Qualtrics XM Institute: Bad experiences 2025. Nearly 24,000 consumers in 23 countries across 20 industries.

How we know this

These notes come from building Noodle4’s review and listening pipelines, not from a published academic sample. Cost curves, intent splits, and ASR collisions are from internal R&D and client-shaped tests. They will not match every category. We include them because the failure mode is structural — not because one campaign is universal.
