How can I automatically review user-generated content before reposting it?

Reposting a customer’s video can be your best content, or a problem: the wrong product, a rival in the shot, a claim you cannot make or a creator who never agreed. Here is how to review UGC automatically before it goes on your channels.

The short answer.

To review user-generated content automatically before reposting, check each piece for the right product, approved claims, safe and on-brand content, no unauthorised brands and a clear disclosure where needed, and keep rights and permission as a separate step. Noodle4 reviews video, images and text against your guidelines, detects products and unauthorised brands, and returns timestamps and evidence, from $0.05 per video.

Why review before reposting

Once you repost, the content is yours in the audience’s eyes. A customer who holds up a rival product, says something your regulator would not allow, or uses language that does not fit your brand becomes your problem the moment it goes on your channel.

What the surveys say

  • Consumers trust it. A 2024 survey by video software company MASV, of 500+ creators, consumers and marketers in the US and UK, found 85% of consumers rely on user-generated video before buying, and 81% find it more trustworthy than official brand promotions.
  • Creators are watching how you use it. 47% of creators in the same survey said their content had been used without authorisation, and 95% said brands should ask first. 74% of those whose content was used were not paid.

MASV sells video software, and the sample is small, so treat the figures as indicative.

What to check

  • Right product. Is it your product, and the right variant?
  • Claims. Is anything said that you could not say yourself?
  • Unauthorised brands. Is a rival visible?
  • Brand safety. Language, behaviour, background.
  • Disclosure. If a gift or code is involved, is it clear?
  • Quality. Is the video usable on your channel?

Noodle4 reviews content with custom multimodal pipelines. It processes audio, visuals and text separately to remove noise for each requirement, then prepares cleaner data for the final decision. That gives more accurate and consistent results across videos, with timestamps, evidence and fixes for each issue, and it separates a genuine fail from a potential risk. Content review starts from $0.05 per video, depending on size, and works on long-form video too.

Rights and permission

Reviewing content is not the same as having the right to use it. Ask for permission in writing, keep a record, credit the creator, and agree payment where relevant. Automatic review helps you pick the content worth asking about. It does not replace asking.

An automatic review flow

  1. Collect candidate content. By hashtag, tag or mention.
  2. Review automatically. Against your guidelines, with evidence.
  3. Shortlist what passes. And send risks to a person.
  4. Ask permission. For the shortlist.
  5. Repost. With credit, and keep the record.

What Noodle4 includes

Noodle4 is a full social intelligence platform, not only a video tool. It reviews text as well as video and images, and it includes:

  • Text, video and image review. Reads captions, on-screen text, spoken words, images and comments, so the whole piece of content is understood.
  • Taxonomies. Organise content and comments into your own categories, so results match how your team thinks.
  • Visual-level SKU tracking. Spot products and SKUs as they appear in videos and images, not only when they are named in text.
  • Classifications. Every piece of content and every comment is classified by topic, type and relevance.
  • Anomaly detection. Flags unusual spikes and shifts, so you see what is trending before it spreads.
  • Slack and Slack Connect. Reviews, risks and reports go to your team’s channels, and to shared channels with partners.
  • MCP. Ask about your creators, campaigns and social intelligence from Claude, Cursor or any MCP client.
  • API. Send content in and get structured results back from your own systems.

That covers social listening, brand monitoring, influencer screening and monitoring, content review and reporting in one place. It is priced on usage, not seats, from £99 a month.

How we know this

These notes come from building Noodle4’s review and listening pipelines, not from a published academic sample. Cost curves, intent splits, and ASR collisions are from internal R&D and client-shaped tests. They will not match every category. We include them because the failure mode is structural — not because one campaign is universal.
