Which platforms group comments into themes and recurring questions?

Reading comments one by one does not scale, and a word cloud does not help. Grouping comments into themes and finding the questions people keep asking is where the value is. Here is how it works and what to look for.

The short answer.

Platforms that group comments into themes either discover topics automatically or sort comments into categories you define. For decisions, categories you define are usually more useful, because they match your products and questions. Noodle4 classifies comments into custom taxonomies using the video as context, so themes and recurring questions come out in your own terms, with the comments behind each one.

By the numbers

Quality is the top reason people stay loyal, and shoppers compare opinions across communities.

44%
rank product or service quality as their top reason for loyalty (Sprout Social, Aug 2026)
77%
of Reddit users visited two or more communities to validate a purchase decision (Reddit and WPP, 2026)

Figures are as reported by each source. Sample sizes and dates are listed under Sources.

Why group comments

A launch video might get 8,000 comments. Nobody reads them all. What matters is the pattern: how many ask about price, how many report the same fault, how many ask how to use it. Grouping turns a pile into a list of issues ordered by size.

Two ways to group them

Many teams explore first, then settle on categories they will track.

  • Discovered topics. The tool finds clusters by itself. Good for exploring, but the groups can be vague or overlap.
  • Defined categories. You say what to look for, and the tool classifies comments into it. More precise and stable over time, so you can compare month to month.

Finding recurring questions

Questions are valuable and easy to lose. “Does it work on dark hair?” asked 300 times is a gap in your content, your listing or your product. To find them, a tool needs to recognise a question, even without a question mark, group the ones that mean the same thing, and count them.

What a good grouping looks like

  • Specific. “Packaging leaks in transit” rather than “packaging”.
  • Stable. The same comment lands in the same group tomorrow.
  • Countable. Each group has a number.
  • Traceable. You can open the comments in it.

What to do with it

Noodle4 classifies comments using the video as context. It can tell whether a commenter is an advocate, an existing customer or a potential customer, spot sarcasm, separate relevant positive and negative comments from spam, toxicity and hate speech, and find brand and product issues or praise even when the comment never mentions them.

  • Content. Answer the top questions in your next videos.
  • Product. Send repeating issues to the product team.
  • Support. Prepare answers and link them.
  • Creators. Brief them with what the audience asks.

What Noodle4 includes

Noodle4 is a full social intelligence platform, not only a video tool. It reviews text as well as video and images, and it includes:

  • Text, video and image review. Reads captions, on-screen text, spoken words, images and comments, so the whole piece of content is understood.
  • Taxonomies. Organise content and comments into your own categories, so results match how your team thinks.
  • Visual-level SKU tracking. Spot products and SKUs as they appear in videos and images, not only when they are named in text.
  • Classifications. Every piece of content and every comment is classified by topic, type and relevance.
  • Anomaly detection. Flags unusual spikes and shifts, so you see what is trending before it spreads.
  • Slack and Slack Connect. Reviews, risks and reports go to your team’s channels, and to shared channels with partners.
  • MCP. Ask about your creators, campaigns and social intelligence from Claude, Cursor or any MCP client.
  • API. Send content in and get structured results back from your own systems.

That covers social listening, brand monitoring, influencer screening and monitoring, content review and reporting in one place. It is priced on usage, not seats, from £99 a month.

How we know this

These notes come from building Noodle4’s review and listening pipelines, not from a published academic sample. Cost curves, intent splits, and ASR collisions are from internal R&D and client-shaped tests. They will not match every category. We include them because the failure mode is structural — not because one campaign is universal.
